The ALF Week commenced with the traditional Student Conference in Theory and Philosophy of Law, now in its eleventh year. This year’s conference focused on the theme “Law and Social Science”, offering participants the opportunity to explore the interdisciplinary intersections of these fields. The conference spanned two days, with presentations in Serbian on the first day and in English on the second. The total number of participants at the student conference—both presenters and commentators—was 17. They were students from all levels of study (undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs) representing the following universities: the University of Alicante (Spain), Goethe University in Frankfurt (Germany), the University of Lisbon (Portugal), the University of Edinburgh (United Kingdom), the University of Genoa (Italy), Koç University (Turkey), the University of Milan (Italy), the University of Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina), the University of Rijeka (Croatia), the Institute of Comparative Law, and the University of Belgrade (Serbia).

The culmination of the ALF Belgrade Legal Philosophy Week was a two-day academic conference held at both the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory and the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade, where 14 academic members presented. The first day focused on the theme “Naturalism in Legal and Political Philosophy”, featuring presentations by distinguished scholars, including Pedro Moniz Lopes (University of Lisbon), Andrej Kristan (University of Genoa), Jorge Sampaio (University of Lisbon), Luka Glušac (University of Belgrade), Goran Dajović (University of Belgrade), Giovanni Battista Ratti (University of Genoa), Petar Mitrović (Union University), and Michal Sladeček (University of Belgrade).

Presentations were delivered by Cuizhu (Dawn) Wang, Klaudyna Horniczak, Katarzyna Eliasz, Wojciech Ciszewski, Maciej Macuga, and Sava Vojnović.

Throughout the conference, presenters addressed a diverse range of topics, engaging with questions of naturalization, empirical research, and their implications in legal and political theory and philosophy. The sessions inspired lively discussions, raising numerous thought-provoking questions and dilemmas.

Beyond the academic rigor, the ALF Belgrade Legal Philosophy Week once again demonstrated its value as a platform for building connections and fostering future collaborations. This highly anticipated annual event brought together scholars, students, and experts in legal philosophy from institutions across Europe to engage in intellectual dialogue and collaboration.
